World Teacher Day is Oct. 5, a date meant to celebrate the work of teachers but a new report by the UN agency, UNESCO, says the world is still falling short of its goal to provide primary and secondary education for all by 2030–including in North America. Sean Previl takes a look at what UNESCO is encouraging to meet the goal, and what one education researcher says needs to change to help bring in more people to the profession.
