A seven-storey apartment building in the Bronx, New York, partially collapsed on Monday, injuring at least two people. According to officials, emergency responders arrived within two minutes and were able to safely evacuate all individuals.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams has confirmed that no one was on the first floor at the time of the collapse. Meanwhile, the building’s commissioner says there were seven unresolved violations pending at the property but weren’t structural.
Fire Department Chief John Hodgens stated that their 鈥渕ain objective鈥 was to ensure that no one was left under the pile of debris and found no one.
