Toronto police arrested at least two people during a pro-Palestinian protest outside a fundraiser for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at the King Edward Hotel on Friday. Chanting “Justin Trudeau, what do you say? How many kids have you killed today,” the group of around 60 protesters waved Palestinian flags and called for an immediate ceasefire between Israel and the Islamist militant group Hamas. Israel has denied accusations of genocide in its campaign against Hamas. In January, Israel insisted at the United Nations’ highest court that its conflict in Gaza was a legitimate defence of its people and said instead that Hamas was guilty of genocide.
