Though he refrained from giving a direct answer when asked if he supports the growing encampments across university campuses protesting the Israel-Hamas conflict in Gaza, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on Friday that Canadians “have to trust” universities and police to manage the camps and ensure the safety of demonstrators and students while “the challenge of debate” continues.
