British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has offered an apology after facing criticism for leaving D-Day commemorations in France on Friday to attend a national television interview in the UK 鈥 where he heavily criticized the opposition party that stayed overseas. 鈥淭he last thing I wanted to do was cause anyone any hurt or upset, which is why I apologize unreservedly for the mistake that I made,鈥 Sunak said on Monday.
