The first-degree murder trial for a Scarborough man accused of beating his girlfriend to death while forcibly confining her has begun. As Catherine McDonald reports, Carland Walker tried to plead guilty to manslaughter but the Crown rejected that plea. Walker’s lawyer says he admits his client killed Nabila Aminzadah but never intended to kill her.
