The president of Canada’s Maritime Sikh Society has spoken out following news of the death of an Indian woman at a Halifax Walmart last week. Harjit Seyan says members of the Sikh Society sprung into action upon hearing the news, offering comfort, hot meals, and to set up a fundraiser for the woman’s immediate family. Halifax police confirmed on Tuesday that the 19-year-old employee was found dead inside of the Walmart’s walk-in bakery oven.
