Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Lin Jian confirmed Friday that China will offer the Taliban in Afghanistan鈥 and dozens of the 鈥渓east developed countries鈥 across the globe 鈥 tariff-free access to its expansive construction, energy and consumer sector. Beijing has sought to develop and strengthen ties with the Taliban since it overthrew Afghanistan鈥檚 government in 2021.
