Australia proposed legislation this week that would see those under 16 forbidden from holding an account on multiple social media platforms like X, TikTok and Facebook. But as Global’s Sean Previl reports, experts say a full ban won’t be effective, in part due to how tech-savvy kids are but there are other things governments and companies can do to ensure kids’ safety online.
