An Israeli strike smashed into a building in the southern suburbs of Beirut on Monday, causing a huge explosion and sending smoke billowing into the sky, following a warning issued by the Israeli military on X. Lebanon’s Deputy Speaker of Parliament Elias Bou Saab told Reuters on Monday that there were “no serious obstacles” left to beginning the implementation of a U.S.-proposed 60-day truce to end fighting between Israel and Lebanese armed group Hezbollah.
