Ford introduces bill to dismantle homeless encampments, increase drug penalties

Speaking in Toronto on Thursday, Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced legislation that could allow police to dismantle homeless encampments and make it illegal to use 鈥渋llicit drugs鈥 in public spaces. Additionally, the bill would 鈥渆nhance penalties for people who deliberately and repeatedly break the law,鈥 resulting in fines of up to $10,000 and six-month prison sentences for repeat offenders.
