City resident Dennis Nephin has stepped forward to organize the event. It comes after the Rotary Club of Peterborough Kawartha announced this summer it was ending its involvement after nearly two decades.

The annual Kawartha Ribfest is scheduled August 22-24 but it will be in a new downtown location – shifting from Millennium Park to Del Crary Park.

He tells ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ Peterborough the move will acccomodate more events and activities for young and old alike.

The Rotary Club withdrew its involvement, citing rising costs and increased workload. Nephin brings extensive experience to the role having organized Ribfest tours in Western Canada.
