From wildfires to hail, tornadoes and flooding, 2024 was a record-setting destructive year for Mother Nature in Canada. Last year’s severe weather events caused more than $8 billion in insured damage, blowing past the previous record of $6 billion from 2016, according to the Insurance Bureau of Canada.
