Participating in a fireside chat in Mississauga on Thursday, Ontario Premier Doug Ford addressed the potential 25 per cent tariffs on Canadian goods threatened by incoming U.S. President Donald Trump. Warning that Ontario could lose roughly 500,000 jobs if Trump follows through with his decision, Ford said his government may need to funnel “billions of dollars into the economy to keep people moving,” although he expressed his personal hope that this would not happen.
