CUPE Local 79, which represents city employees in bylaw, rec centre, long-term-care, food preparation, and more – have voted 90 per cent in favour of a strike mandate. The union says wages, burnout, and more are at the core of their concerns and they’ll walk off the job if a deal isn’t reached. Matthew Bingley reports.
