Montreal is taking another step to try and alleviate the housing crisis. City officials are banning all short-term rentals such as Airbnb outside of the summer season. They want to increase the supply of rental units and help more people find permanent housing. Critics welcome the gesture but some question why the mayor waited this long to act.
