Student with weapons prompts lockdown at Campbellford District High School

No injuries were reported after Campbellford District High School went into lockdown early Tuesday afternoon after a student was found carrying weapons.
Principal Bobbie Brown says around noon staff were informed a student with weapons in their backpack was making threatening comments towards the school.
The student was brought to the office and a lockdown went into effect
Brown says the student was in possession of a firearm and other weapons.
Northumberland OPP conducted a sweep of the school before the lockdown was lifted
The student was taken into custody.
Brown says mental health clinicians will be on site Wednesday to assist any students impacted by the incident.

OPP on Wednesday said they seized a firarm and several edged-weapons. As a result, a 15-year-old boy from Havelock, was charged with:
-Carry firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition in careless manner
– Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose (two counts)
– Carrying a concealed weapon
– Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
– Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
– Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
– Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
