Kawartha Food Share receives Corus Entertainment Community Boost donation

Kawartha Food Share has been selected as a recipient of funding from Corus Entertainment’s “Community Boost” program.

The Peterborough, Ont., food bank received the $2,500 donation on Wednesday from Corus Entertainment’s stations in Peterborough which includes 101.5 The Wolf, 100.5 Fresh Radio and Global Peterborough.

As part of Corus’s “Feed the Need’ program, each quarter a nominated charity from across Canada is selected to receive the donation.

The food bank supports between 12,000 and 14,000 people monthly.

Carey Walker, promotions manager for the three stations, says Kawartha Food Share has a 3-to-1 buying power that essentially triples the contribution.
