April 1 won鈥檛 feel like a joke this year as the federal government is removing the federal carbon tax. In advance of the campaigns being kicked off, the Conservative leader was calling for a carbon tax election. But after Mark Carney鈥檚 decision to drop federal consumer carbon pricing the focus shifted to affordability and Canada鈥檚 relationship with the U.S. 鈥淭here is a possibility that voters will vote on other issues and end up with climate policies they don鈥檛 like very much,鈥 say UBC Professor Kathryn Harrison.
