In advance of the campaigns being kicked off, the Conservative leader was calling for a carbon tax election. But after Mark Carney’s decision to drop federal consumer carbon pricing the focus shifted to affordability and Canada’s relationship with the U.S. “There is a possibility that voters will vote on other issues and end up with climate policies they don’t like very much,” say UBC Professor Kathryn Harrison.
