Ontario Premier Doug Ford spoke Wednesday shortly after U.S. President Donald Trump announced a 鈥渕inimum baseline tariff rate鈥 of 10 per cent, and 25 per cent on foreign-made vehicles. Asked if the Ontario government perceived the announcement as devastating, Ford responded saying 鈥渋f it was 25 per cent and 10 per cent on top of that 鈥 yes 鈥 but we don鈥檛 believe that that鈥檚 the situation.鈥 Neither Canada nor Mexico were included on a list of tariffed countries and the premier was asked if that appeared to be a slight. 鈥淚 think that鈥檚 good news actually when we aren鈥檛 named on that list,鈥 Ford said.
