Alberta Premier Danielle Smith is denouncing tariffs from President Donald Trump and insisting Canada lessens its independence on the U.S., while establishing new trade relationships. Speaking at a Canada Strong and Free Network conference in Ottawa on Thursday, Smith said Canada has, for too long, coasted on past accomplishments while counting on the goodwill of its allies.
