French President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday denounced the 鈥渦nacceptable violence鈥 of a recent string of attacks on prisons and prison workers around France. 鈥淭hey (assailants) will be found, tried, and punished,鈥 Macron said in a post on X social media. Cars were set on fire at a prison in Tarascon in southern France early on Wednesday, justice minister Gerald Darmanin said on Wednesday, as the government tackles a wave of attacks on jails.
