During the English-language debate between Canada’s federal leaders on Thursday, Liberal head Mark Carney said China was the nation’s single greatest geopolitical threat. Asked to elaborate on this Friday, Carney said China is “becoming an emerging threat to the Arctic” and is “one of the reasons why we will now have a year-round presence” there.
