Pope skips annual Easter Sunday mass, but makes brief appearance before Vatican supporters

Thousands gathered at the Vatican for the annual Easter Sunday service and to pray for the continued recovery of Pope Francis. The 88-year-old wasn’t at the mass but gave a brief speech afterwards at St. Peter’s Square. The pontiff was discharged from hospital nearly a month ago after being bedridden with double pneumonia.
