During a campaign stop in Saint-Irénée on Monday, Bloc Québécois leader Yves-François Blanchet reiterated calls for “more” immigration powers to be transferred to the Quebec government. Blanchet said, “in terms of management, the government of Canada is mostly a failure,” claiming Quebec is “a different nation” — in terms of language, culture, history and overall values” — and that the federal government “should keep their nose into their own business” and let Quebec do what’s good for Quebec.”
