A local event company is receiving a $20,000 funding boost to help bring Durham Fest to life this summer. The taking place on August 23 and 24 at the Ajax Go station parking lot will feature plenty of food stalls, vendors, rides, and live entertainment. The funding is coming from the Ontario Cultural Attractions Fund. While the day portion of Durham Fest will highlight local diversity, evening shows will focus on South Asian musical artists. Non-profit organization, BMK Event and Promotions organized the first Durham Fest in 2023 after noticing the South Asian community was missing an opportunity to gather locally in parts of the GTA.
