Liberal Leader Mark Carney on Friday defended his characterization of a March phone call with United States President Donald Trump, after it was revealed the U.S. President had repeated rhetoric calling Canada the 鈥51st state.鈥 Carney said it was 鈥渃lear鈥 by the end of the call that Trump 鈥渞espected Canada as a sovereign country.鈥
