Upon being elected for a ninth consecutive time in his riding of Beauséjour, Liberal MP Dominic LeBlanc spoke with Global’s Suzanne Lapointe Monday and addressed comments from U.S. President Donald Trump about his hopes to absorb Canada as a 51st state. LeBlanc called the comments “insulting,” adding that his party’s focus, if re-elected, will be to “protect and build the Canadian economy” while coming to an agreement with the U.S. that is in the interest of citizens.
