A crowd of tens of thousands gathered outside Buckingham Palace on Monday to celebrate Victory Europe Day (VE Day), marking the 80th anniversary of Nazi Germany’s surrender to the allied forces and the end of the Second World War. The Royal family was present as well and could be seen watching the annual flypast from the palace balcony.
