White smoke billowed from the chimney of the Sistine Chapel in St. Peter’s Square on Thursday to the roars of the crowd who cheered knowing a new pope had been elected. The white smoke poured from the flue on the chapel’s roof, indicating the Cardinal’s had successfully chosen a new pope during the third round of voting during the conclave.
