In a broadcast exclusive, the new U.S. Ambassador to Canada says the White House wants to move forward with a new Canadian trade deal. Citing the Trump administration making a deal with the U.K. within its first 100 days in the White House as an example, the ambassador says now that there’s a new government in Canada, “hopefully we will get to an agreement relatively quickly.” Hoekstra also gives his thoughts on whether all tariffs will be here to stay. Plus, Hoekstra tells the show he also has a significant family tie to Canada and signals a warmer tone in cross-border relations.
