Putin calls for direct talks with Ukraine in Istanbul, Zelenskyy agrees

Russian President Vladimir Putin has proposed direct peace talks with Ukraine on May 15 in Istanbul, aiming to address the root causes of the ongoing conflict. In response, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reiterated his country’s call for a ceasefire starting Monday, awaiting a reply from Russia and confirmed his participation in the proposed talks in Turkey.
