Finance minister suggests Liberals will not table 2025 annual budget

Following Prime Minister Mark Carney’s first Liberal cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne suggested the government will not table an annual budget this year. Instead, Champagne said first the feds will implement a tax cut for the middle class, outline their party’s priorities, and then deliver the fall economic statement on time, “in fall.”
