From the vibrant stalls of Jean-Talon Market to the busy kiosques at Atwater Market, the popular public destinations are more than just places to buy produce, they are engrained in Montreal’s sense of community. But now with some merchants faced with recent steep rent increases, some are worried they will have to raise prices which could in turn discourage customers from buying local.
