Heiltsuk Nation ratifies new written constitution through celebratory feast

Following decades of consultation and development, British Columbia’s Heiltsuk Nation has ratified and adopted its written constitution. Formalizing the process Friday with a ceremonial feast, which included First Nations leaders and delegates from around the province, Paul Johnson was there for what’s being called a “monumental day” in the nation’s history.
