Fire prevention is a long-standing challenge in many Indigenous communities across Canada, according to the National Indigenous Fire Safety Council. A pilot project has just been launched in Kahnawake to improve fire safety prevention and accessibility to key life-saving devices. Global’s Phil Carpenter reports.
