Ontario鈥檚 recently passed Bill 5 or the 'Protect Ontario by Unleashing our Economy Act' enables the provincial government to designate special economic zones. The Ring of Fire in Northern Ontario which sits on Treaty 9 territory is one of the areas that is likely set to be designated as one of these zones. Ontario Regional Chief Abram Benedict joins Candace Daniel to discuss why First Nations are concerned about the Ford Government's approach and what they want to change.
