Hamilton Police confirmed Monday that the remains found at Caledon’s Glanbrook Landfill in late May have been identified as Shalina Singh – the 40-year-old Hamilton woman who was last seen Dec. 4, 2024. Jeffrey Smith, Singh’s former common-law boyfriend has been charged with second-degree murder and indignity to human remains. Police say Smith, 42, “may have” removed Singh “from her building by way of the garbage disposal system.”
