Manitoba wildfires: Decision to evacuate Leaf Rapids based on ‘forecasted’ wind conditions, precipitation, officials say

Kristin Hayward, assistant deputy minister responsible for the Manitoba wildfire service, said Monday that nearby wildfires are not currently threatening Leaf Rapids, a community in northwest Manitoba, but said the decision to evacuate was based on “forecasted” wind conditions and precipitation.
