The PGA’s world number one, Scottie Scheffler, struck a philosophical tone on Tuesday ahead of the British Open at Royal Portrush. Speaking to the media before the Open starts on Thursday, the American said he wrestles with the point of golf on a daily basis. “I love putting in the work. I love getting to practice. I love getting to live out my dreams. But at the end of the day, sometimes I just don’t understand the point,” Scheffler said.
