The income gap between Canada’s highest-and lowest-income households reached a record high in the first quarter of 2025, new data from Statistics Canada shows. Wealth disparity has grown each year since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, with high-income households gaining from returns on investments, and low-incomes households seeing wages steadily decline.
