World’s oldest ice source sampled from Antarctica, sent to U.K. for climate research

U.K. researchers are carefully studying ice extracted from deep below Antarctica’s surface. Samples are said to be some of the oldest ever retrieved from the continent, dating back more than a million years. As Vincent McAviney reports, they offer important clues to how our climate is changing today.
