Firefighters were recorded attempting to extinguish a 鈥渇ire tornado鈥� in Turkey鈥檚 northwestern Anatolia peninsula Monday. The Bilecik region was one of hundreds devastated by wildfires in the last week. While tens of thousands have been temporarily evacuated from their homes, other Mediterranean countries are part of this 鈥渨ildfire hotspot鈥� too, researchers say.
