As American President Donald Trump’s Aug. 1 tariff deadline approaches, Canadian trade negotiators are intensifying discussions with U.S. officials to secure a deal and avoid a looming 35 per cent tariff on Canadian goods. Trade Minister Dominic LeBlanc met with U.S. senators and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick in Washington, where talks were described as positive but yielded no concrete results.
