Federal regulators in the U.S. have approved Paramount’s $8 billion USD merger with Skydance, a year after the deal was first announced, and under the spectre of the Trump Administration potentially blocking the merger. The deal opens the door to major changes at CBS News, with FCC Chairman Brendan Carr saying, “Americans no longer trust the legacy national news media to report fully, accurately, and fairly.
