Is a U.S.-Canada trade deal in jeopardy after Trump expresses doubt ahead of deadline?

U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed scepticism regarding trade negotiations with Canada, stating he is “not hopeful” about reaching an agreement before the looming Aug. 1 deadline. This deadline marks a potential increase in tariffs on certain Canadian goods, which could rise to 35 per cent. In response, the Canadian government indicated that any potential agreement would take time to finalize.  Jackson Proskow reports.
