Peterborough police probe attempted arson at vape store

Peterborough police are investigating what they are calling an attempted arson at a west end vape store early Monday morning.

Around 3:20 a.m. police responded to reports that a gas can had been thrown through the window of Popavape Super Center at the Parkway Place plaza on Lansdowne St. West.

Police say the incident triggered the sprinkler system, prevening a fire.

However the business has sustained extensive water damage.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
