Canadian economy on ‘permanently lower path’ due to U.S. tariffs: Macklem

Following the Bank of Canada’s announcement it would hold its key lending rate steady, Governor Tiff Macklem said Wednesday that the Canada-U.S. trade war would put the economy a “permanently lower path” with lower consumption and income levels.
