Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer along with other Democratic leaders, invoked a rarely used provision Wednesday to demand the Department of Justice hand over all information related to Jeffrey Epstein by Aug. 15. Schumer said the Democrats were invoking “a century-old and little-known law known as the Rule of Five.” Under the federal law, Schumer said, “when any five senators on the Homeland Security Committee call on the executive branch, the executive branch must comply.”
