U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer appeared on CBS News’ ‘Face the Nation’ on Sunday and discussed U.S. President Donald Trump increasing tariffs to 35 per cent this past week. Greer said that Canada and China were the only two countries that retaliated against the tariffs, causing the U.S. to increase the tariffs "to maintain the integrity of our action, the effectiveness." Canada’s U.S. trade representative Dominic LeBlanc was asked about Greer’s comments and whether Canada would make the concession of dropping its retaliatory tariffs. LeBlanc said "the economy of both countries is strengthened when we do things together."
